Texas judge dismisses Chavis’ case against LSU

A Texas judge has dismissed John Chavis’ case against LSU over his contract buyout on Friday.

This will move the case back to Louisiana, giving LSU an edge with the case being in their home-state.

Chavis left the Tigers a day after last year’s Music City Bowl loss against Notre Dame.

Chavis is countersuing LSU concerning back pay after LSU sued him for a $400,000 buyout payment for leaving before completing his contract. Chavis also claims that he is owed $200,000 in vacation pay and that the contract should be voided because the contents were altered.
