It was the first full weekend of football and the heavyweights fought in Cleveland. Also, Joe knew. Sucka.
5. Stipe Miocic’s Voice
Shear power and a hometown advantage was enough to keep the belt on the heavyweight champ! That or having a voice that sounds like gravel. Overeem had Miocic in a guillotine but Miocic escaped because Overeem was terrified when Miocic yelled in his ear. Who would willingly fight this man?
4. Joe Knew T-Shirts
They were everywhere Saturday during the Pitt win over Penn St. It was all over the social media gimmicks and it drew a lot of funny memes. It also drew some misinformed and way too “P.C. bro” reactions. Some people called the Joe Knew t-shirts questionable, taboo, and low class. These people are wrong. Questionable, taboo, low class, and down right disturbing is sitting idly by while a cult celebrates a man who sat idly by for decades and enabled child rape. I am proud of Pitt for not only winning, but shining a light on the truth. It’s a great institution full of like-minded individuals who value honesty.
3. Tre White
You are an NFL caliber defensive back. Your coach is putting you back there to return punts against FCS Jacksonville State. Go crazy! Have fun! Run backwards 45 yards and break loose for TD! Enjoy yo’self! It’s not going to get any easier for Tre White with SEC play commencing and the NFL in his future. Much love for LSU’s star corner for feasting on cupcakes while he has the chance.
2. Red Lights
It’s my lady’s “birthday week” so Saturday nite I was out with her doing “birthday week” things. This meant I was not going to be able watch UFC 203 live. I had to watch in full yesterday. I did catch one thing live though and that was CM Punk’s fight with Mickey Gall. While I respect Punk for following his dreams and the touching promos both he and Gall cut after the fight, to tell you just how outmatched Punk was in case you missed it: I was stopped at a long red light outside of a Hooters. I could see through the window that they had the PPV on. I watched the entire fight while at a red light. From bell to tap, I did not miss a thing.
1. Del Rios
Big weekend for the Del Rio family. Luke punked UK and might have gotten Mark Stoops fired. Jack went for 2 against the Saints in the ballsiest call of the weekend. And Alberto parted ways with WWE for a second time and is now the hottest free agent in the world. Great weekend to be from the river.
