Welcome everyone ot another edition of #3OT!
1st OT: Playing With Fire
After going back and forth with Georgia Southern for the opening five minutes, Georgia Southern started to put a gap between themselves and Georgia Southern. Then Coach Bob Marlin got unglued after a technical foul was called on Long and then himself. After Marlin got hot, the team took that fire and turned it into momentum and came away with a crucial win heading into the conference tournament.
2nd OT: The Other Guys
Shawn Long was kept in check for the second straight game, so the Cajuns had to get another source of shooting. And thankfully the Cajuns had Kasey Shepherd, Devonta Walker, and Hayward Register show up and contribute a significant amount. Heck, Walker wound up with a double-double at the half. Overall, this was a performance by a team that needed to secure that bye in the tournament.
3rd OT: Headed to New Orleans
The Cajuns are headed to the tournament and will take on either South Alabama, a team they lost to a week ago, or Georgia Southern for the second time in almost a week on Friday. In my mind, the Cajuns would be better off with Georgia Southern because they’ve been able to handle the Eagles in both outings. South Alabama is one of those teams that can and will create trouble for the Cajuns.
