Welcome everyone to another edition of #3OT!
1st OT: The Slide Continues
It’s another game and another poor shooting effort by the Cajuns. And this led to the fifth loss in six games for this squad. After having a nine-game win streak, the wheels look to be falling off at exactly the wrong time. It’s not looking good for the Cajuns heading into the Sun Belt Conference tournament right now.
2nd OT: Poor First Half Too Much to Comeback From
Overall, it was a poor first half for both teams, but the Cajuns making only 23 points is almost inexcusable. Bryce Washington was a guy playing out of his mind when the big time player in Shawn Long had a less than stellar performance and couldn’t complete the rally. It was only a three-point loss but it doesn’t make the loss any worse.
3rd OT: Big Game Saturday
Saturday ends the regular season for the Cajuns and they take on Georgia Southern, a team that should be a win. Yes, that is italicized. If the Cajuns weren’t in the midst of a downward spiral, this would be a for sure win. But nothing is guaranteed and they need to keep the senior night distractions to a minimum. You can’t afford to slip in this game as the Eagles are nipping at the Cajuns heels in the standing and getting that important bye in the Sun Belt Conference tournament. If the Cajuns want to have a chance of making it to the big dance, they need to win this game on Saturday.
