Welcome everyone to another edition of #3OT!
1st OT: The Unusual Suspects
In the first half, it wasn’t Shawn Long or Kasey Shepherd who were leading the way. It was Bryce Washington and Jay Hedgeman picking up the slack, scoring 13 and 10 points respectively. Head coach Bob Marlin touted these two players after the game for helping give the Cajuns the edge they needed to come away with the win. It is really nice to see that the Cajuns can still get things done even if the best players aren’t performing well.
2nd OT: Hot Streak Continues
The Ragin Cajuns are starting to roll right now and at the perfect time. They currently are riding a four game win streak and all four games have been won by double digits. If that’s not getting hot at the right time, I don’t know what is. It’ll be hard to stop a team that is performing this well and with three games left to go in this homestand, it could lead to something big for the Cajuns, who looked like they might not make it to the Sun Belt Conference tournament just a few short weeks ago.
3rd OT: The Book of Eli’s Next Chapter
After joining the team on Monday, the Ragin Cajuns running back made his debut for the basketball team. His stat sheet didn’t show much of anything in his five minutes of playing time, but don’t tell the fans that. As soon as Elijah McGuire got on the court, the 6,064 fans in the Cajundome came alive. He may not have had as much of an impact in his debut, but he got the crowd hyped up, which in turn pumped the Cajuns up even more.
