Welcome everyone to another edition of #3OT!
1st OT: Another Second Half Collapse on the Road
This loss wasn’t like a few weeks ago when they had a 20+ point lead and let it slip away on the way to a big loss, but it didn’t make the loss feel any better. It’s even more frustrating when you’ve got an opportunity to get back on the right side of things after a tough loss against Arkansas-Little Rock. This team has been so used to having to play from behind, losing a game like they did is kind of frustrating. It seems like the problems the Cajuns have had on the road earlier in the season is back.
2nd OT: Poor Free Throw Shooting
Typically, the Cajuns are good enough to get by from the charity stripe. Tonight was a night where they weren’t good at all, shooting a meager 17-of-29 from behind the line. And the Mavs were able to get things done at the free throw line, shooting 24-30. That, at the end of the day, was what cost the Cajuns.
3rd OT: Fight Like Crazy
After the game, Cajuns head coach Bob Marlin said they will have to fight like crazy to get where they want to be. Currently tied for second in the league with UL Monroe, the Cajuns are controlling their own destiny trying to get byes heading into the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The last five games for the Cajuns are all against sub-.500 teams, so if they can get these wins, the Ragin Cajuns will do what’s needed to help their postseason chances.
