In baseball, if you score a lot of runs in one game, the second game could be entirely different. This was how it was for the Cajuns as they fell to Arkansas Little Rock (7-11, 1-4 SBC) 10-5 to split the twinbill.
The Trojans opened the game up with a two run bomb by Ryan Scott and was followed by a sac fly by Cameron Knight that would score Nik Gifford to go up 3-0 after the top of the first.
The Cajuns wasted no time responded with Joe Robbins sending one over the right field wall for his second of the day to cut the lead down to 3-2.
But the Trojans began to pull away in the top of the second with Scott hitting a two-run double. The scoring for the Trojans continued with two more runs in the fourth. Scott continued to connect with his second home run in the game, this time scoring three runners in the top of the fifth.
The Cajuns tried to rally in the bottom of the ninth, but could only muster up three runs off of a wild pitch and a two run bomb from Kennon Fontenot.
Marks dropped to 2-2 on the year, allowing five runs off of four hits and walking two in one and a third of an inning of work.
The Cajuns (12-7, 3-2 SBC) will try to come away with the series win against Little Rock with first pitch set for 1 pm.
