Money Left on the Table

Posted by alanmichael on April 21, 2016 in Featured

How stupid can the UFC be? Conor McGregor just saved Dana White $10 million in promotional costs with 1 Tweet and 1 Facebook post and yet the UFC is still calling off the UFC 200 rematch between McGregor and Nate Diaz. The world is already talking about this fight non-stop on the social media gimmicks, but Dana White and the UFC are deciding end all the hype just because Conor McGregor will not play ball the way they want all their fighters to play ball.

This is the Catch-22 that is the UFC: an authoritative body that gives it’s fans the best possible matchups between fighters while simultaneously hindering their fighters from becoming global personalities who can grow the sport. Baseball had Ruth. Hockey had Gretzky. Basketball had Jordan. MMA will never have their transcending personality so long as “The Authority” within the UFC controls the fighters as much as they do. This fight has already been bought and sold by the millions of people reading and retweeting McGregor this week, but the UFC has stupidly decided to leave money on the table because it was not done on their terms. The Authority always wins and it is STOOPIT!
