Cajuns Season Ends With Loss to Arizona 3-1

Posted by clintdomingue on June 7, 2016 in Latest News

Cajuns

The Ragin Cajuns didn’t want to close out the Tigue like this. But the Arizona Wildcats kept the momentum rolling from the win Monday afternoon into Monday evening with a 3-1 victory.

The game started out eerily similar to the afternoon game with Ryan Aguilar hitting a double to right field in the bottom of the first that would score Zach Gibbons. Aguilar would get the second run later in the inning when he scored off of a wild pitch.

The Wildcats would get another run across in the bottom of the second with an RBI single from Cody Ramer to make it 3-0.

But Kyle Clement helped the Cajuns avoid a shutout when he blasted a solo shot over the right field wall in the top of the fourth.

Wyatt Marks dropped to 6-7 on the year allowing three runs off of six hits, walked one, and struck out three in two innings of work.

The Cajuns end the year with a 43-21 record while the Arizona Wildcats will head over to Starkville to take on Mississippi State in the Super Regional.
