The Fave 5: Watching With Intent to Flag

Posted by alanmichael on October 3, 2016 in Featured, Latest News

This week’s Fave 5 is brought to you by the same score every time. Read this carefully as if you were waiting to throw a flag. No Heisman hopefuls needed here! I kept the “Dobbnail Boot” off of this list but give it an honorary mention. Aww shucky ducky quakc quack! Here it ’tis! Sucka!

5. Lev Bell

Returning from both an injury and bogus suspension, the best back in the league made it look easy against the Chiefs. The patience is unlike anything I’ve seen from a running back in my lifetime. Masterful performance and even better call if you showed patience and drafted him early in your fantasy league.

4. Refs Deciding What Celebrations to Flag

My new favorite part of a football game is watching the referees watch touchdown scoring players as they celebrate their triumph. If you look at these refs, they are watching the dances as intently as a 4th and 1 play. Blake Bortles kicked a ball into the stands in London and did not get flagged, while I saw Crabtree slightly thrust his pelvis and get flagged instantly. We cannot pick and choose, either flag all celebrations or none. There are too many precious yards being handed to teams over stuff that does not matter.

3. Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams

Who needs a Heisman candidate? Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams combined for more yards than my head can process. Guice looked like Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl while Williams handled the goal line against a good Mizzou front with ease. LSU has some offensive woes that will still need taken care of and t’s an overrated position, but when you have all these capable players, at least LSU will never have an issue at running back.

2. Julio Jones

This is what you get when the biggest and baddest of the receivers is healthy and facing a team that allowed Josh Norman to walk. Not many players are capable of what Julio Jones did yesterday, but Carolina helped him out by not giving their best defensive player from their NFC Championship team what he wanted.

1. 35-34

I have never tested my IQ and I do not claim to be some magnificent prognosticator, but I think yesterday helped a lot of you finally realize, that when it comes to the Saints, “this Alan Michael sure knows what he is talkin’ about!”
