The ordeal involving thirteen Louisiana Ragin Cajuns players look to be one step closer to being finished. The players have had their felony charges reduced to criminal mischief, a misdemeanor. This was first reported by the Daily Advertiser.
According to court records, it was requested that the case be continued without date upon the defendants entering a pre-trial diversion program. This means that all 13 can have the charges dropped after completing community service.
“We are relieved that this issue is nearing closure. These young men have learned and will continue to learn from this tremendous life lesson. We will continue to be respectful of the legal process as it runs its course.” Hudspeth said in a statement released on Friday afternoon.
The 13 originally charged with a felony were Robert Hunt, D’Aquin Withrow, Matthew Barnes, Denarious Howard, Trey Ragas, Jordan Wright, Joe Dillon, Jarvis Jeffries, LaDarrius Kidd, Terik Miller, Damar’ren Mitchell, Levarous Varnado, and Simeon Thomas.
