LSU Not Ready to Compete with ‘Bama

Posted by davidschultz on January 9, 2018 in Blogs

After Monday night’s National Championship Game, two things are very clear.  Alabama will continue to compete for titles and LSU will not. At least not anytime soon.

The Crimson Tide have a pair of quarterbacks that Nick Saban could play at anytime next season.

Meanwhile, LSU will be looking at the Miami Hurricanes and the Auburn Tigers in two of their first three games in 2018.  Neither one in Baton Rouge, by the way.  The Tigers will be starting a quarterback that either saw limited or absolutely no action 2017.

By the way, the national runner ups, Georgia Bulldogs will pay a visit to Tiger Stadium next season.  Who you got;  Jacob Fromm or ???

Just for the heck of it, let’s compare offensive coordinators.  The last three for Alabama have been Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian and Brian Daboll.  Two former college head coaches and the other taken directly from the NFL’s New England Patriots.

Reports have LSU going with Steve Ensmiger (among many) who replaces Matt Canada, who was hired when Kiffin took FAU Head job.

I doubt any of this was in ‘The Binders’ Orgeron handed LSJ AD Joe Alleva when applying for the job.  But what’s crystal clear is LSU is not on the same level as Alabama.  It’s not even close.
