Louisiana Ragin Cajuns Falter in Midweek Matchup Against UNO

Posted by clintdomingue on March 13, 2019 in Blogs, Latest News

Things just weren’t clicking for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (6-10) on Tuesday night, allowing four runs in the first and it resulted in a 10-3 loss to the UNO Privateers (10-5)

How It Happened:

The Privateers got on the board early, capitalizing on a throwing error by Hayden Cantrelle with Salo Iza getting home safely. They would put up three more runs in the first inning, highlighted by an RBI triple from Tresten Kennard.

Brennan Breaux got the Cajuns on the board in the bottom frame with an RBI single out to right center field to chip away at the lead. However, UNO put up another crooked number in the second inning, capped off by a two-run double down the left field line by Iza to take a 7-1 lead.

The third inning was more of the same when Collin Morrill hit a two-run double to left center, making it a 9-1 ballgame, effectively putting the game out of reach.

Big Number: 7

Blake Schultz definitely wants to forget what happened on Tuesday night. In just his one inning of work, he was credited for 7 of the 10 Privateers runs

Player of the Game: Salo Iza

Iza made each of his two hits count on Tuesday night, but that two-run double had a lot more weight to it and was more than enough to give him the honors.

Next Up: Wednesday vs Southern Miss; First Pitch 6:30 pm
