Louisiana Ragin Cajuns Drop Tough One to McNeese

Posted by clintdomingue on April 11, 2019 in Blogs, Latest News

It was another rough night for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns on Wednesday with McNeese State getting out in front early and the Cajuns being unable to rally back and it resulted in a 6-3 loss.

How It Happened:

The Cowboys got on the board in the top of the second with a fielder’s choice by Jake Dickerson scored Clayton Rasbeary. McNeese State then poured it on in the third with a five-run inning highlighted by a solo shot from Dustin Duhon and a two-run bomb to right field by Carson Maxwell.

The Cajuns responded in the bottom frame with a three-run inning highlighted by back-to-back RBI doubles from Hayden Cantrelle and Hunter Kasuls. However, the bats ran cold the rest of the night after the Cowboys relief pitching staff struck out 8 batters on the evening.

Big Number: 10

The ratio of strikeouts to walks was incredibly high and a big reason why is because the Cajuns struck out a total of 10 times

Player of the Game: Carson Maxwell

Maxwell went 2-for-5 on the evening, but his biggest moment was the two-run shot to right field to really put the exclamation point on a five-run inning.

Next Up: Friday vs South Alabama; First Pitch at 6:30 pm
