Grant Delpit Lands On Fourth Preseason Watch List

Posted by clintdomingue on July 26, 2019 in Blogs, Latest News, LSU Tigers

The preseason hype surrounding Grant Delpit is justified considering what he did in his sophomore season. Now the star defensive back has added a fourth preseason watch list to his accolades for the 2019 season and that is the Walter Camp Award

Delpit, who became only the ninth unanimous All-America in school history last year, is one of just 10 players on the defensive side of the ball listed on the Walter Camp Watch List.

With the addition of the Walter Camp Award, Delpit is now listed as a preseason candidate for four national awards – Bednarik, Nagurski and Jim Thorpe – round out his list.

Delpit is coming off of a sophomore campaign that saw him lead the SEC in interceptions, and ranked second in the SEC in passes defended. He also led the Tigers in sacks, finished third in tackles, and added another 10.5 tackles for loss.
