Where in Louisiana Will You Find The Most Scenic Ride In the State?

Posted by dylanguillory on September 10, 2019 in Featured

Now that I am back home in Louisiana, I find myself driving like a mad man like many of you. See, you have to be able to keep up with traffic.  I most recently lived in Bismarck, ND, and my driving habits was like I was still in Bismarck. Now back home, I have to drive like all of you to keep up with traffic.

Bismarck’s speed limit was 25 MPH throughout the city and the Bismarck Police would shoot radar constantly plus 90 % of the police cars in Bismarck were equipped with front and rear radar. After a while, you are conditioned to follow the speed limit. The fines were not bad and were almost a joke. The fine was $1 for every mile about the posted speed limit. The real costs came from your insurance company raising your annual premium or dropping you. Now living here for over 8 months, I have learned to cut in traffic, zip and zag from one lane to another. I used my signal with is a good lesson for a few of you to take away from this story.

Speaking of riding, where would the most scenic drive in Louisiana be located?

Thrillist recently published the most scenic drive in every state and for the Bayou State, I have to admit I was a bit taken back with the road listed as the most scenic. I’ve been on this road and I get why it was listed but I also know we have some awesome roads to travel.

The road listed for Louisiana is US 90. I can already see the expression on your face. This is the alternate route or the swampland route hugging the coast from Lafayette to New Orleans. To call this scenic I would disagree. It’s not a beautiful drive, but you will find some delicious food and unique shops.

Route 90 is a vast East-West highway,  stretches 297.6 miles along the state’s marshland.
