LSU-Utah State Football Game Will Kickoff at 11 a.m. on Oct. 5th

It was announced on Monday that the Utah State at LSU game on Oct. 5th will be kicking off at 11 a.m.

BATON ROUGE — The LSU football team, and the die-hard Tiger fans, will kickoff before noon for the second straight contest.

LSU announced on Monday morning that the program’s next game, an Oct. 5th matchup at home against Utah State, is scheduled for an 11 a.m. kickoff. The game will be shown on SEC Network and can be heard live on 103.7 The Game.

The kickoff time is note worthy for a few reasons.

For one, LSU will kick off at 11 a.m. in back-to-back games for the first time in the modern era, and then will also be the first scheduled non-conference game kicking off at 11 a.m. inside Tiger Stadium since before 1960.

The only other non-conference morning kickoff in Death Valley was the 2008 game against Appalachian State which kicked off at 10 a.m. That morning kickoff occurred after the game was moved up from 4 p.m. to 10 a.m. due to Hurricane Gustav.

LSU (4-0) is currently ranked as the No. 4 team in the country and senior quarterback Joe Burrow is a legitimate Heisman Memorial Trophy candidates. Through four games this season, Burrow has 1,520 passing yards and 17 passing touchdowns. Burrow has also been named Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week three of the four weeks.

After Utah State on Oct. 5th, LSU will welcome Florida to Tiger Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 12. That game will also serve as homecoming but a kickoff time has not been set yet.
