NFL Plans to Release Preseason and Regular Season Schedules This Week

The NFL plans to release both the preseason and regular season schedules for all 32 teams later this week, according to league spokesperson Brian McCarthy.

McCarthy told ESPN’s Adam Schefter the schedules will not have any big changes, but there are plans to adjust if necessary.

NFL also planning to release its preseason schedule by end of this week, per @NFLprguy: “If we have to make adjustments, we will be prepared to do so based on the latest guidance from our medical experts and public health officials and current and future government regulations.”

The league adjusted this year’s draft by conducting a fully virtual selection process for all three days.

However, there may be one change to this year’s schedules, according to Schefter.

NFL plans to release its preseason and regular-season schedule later this week, but one league source said Sunday that he doesn’t “think any international games (are) coming this year.”

The New York Post reported last week the league has had discussions about playing games on Saturday if there is no college football season. The schedule release is not expected to include Saturday games since there has been no report on whether or not there will be a college football season.

Before the schedules are released, the Miami Dolphins organization have already been putting plans into place to accommodate fans in their stadium for the upcoming season.

Miami’s CEO/president Tom Garfinkel joined “Good Morning America” and he unveiled early plans to host fans in Hard Rock Stadium. The plan includes fans wearing masks and limiting attendance to 15,000 fans per game. There would also be colored spots before the entrance gate to represent the distance between fans entering the stadium.

As of now, the NFL season is scheduled to begin on Sept. 10 with the Super Bowl held on Feb. 7.
