Los Angeles Lakers win 2019-20 NBA title

The Los Angeles Lakers are the 2019-20 NBA champions.

The Lakers defeated the Miami Heat after a 106-93 win in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Sunday.

Los Angeles forward Lebron James was named the Bill Russell Finals MVP. This is now James’ fourth NBA title of his career.

The NBA was suspended in early March after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19. but the league resumed play in July.

The Lakers finished the regular season 52-19 overall. They defeated the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round in five games. The Lakers went on to defeated the Houston Rockets in five games and the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.

This is the Lakers’ 17 title in franchise history and their first title since 2010.
