LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron told reporters that starting quarterback Myles Brennan is ‘doubtful’ for Saturday’s game against Florida.

“He’s doubtful. He didn’t practice yesterday, not going to practice today,” Orgeron said on the SEC Coaches Teleconference. “I know he’s not going to practice today. Think he’s going to practice towards the end of the week.”

According to Orgeron, Brennan will sit out Wednesday’s practice. Brennan suffered the injury when running for the goaline in last week’s loss to Missouri.

LSU is currently 1-2 for the season and they are scheduled to play Florida this Saturday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m.

The Tigers have freshmen quarterbacks Max Johnson and TJ Finley equally splitting reps during this week’s practices.

“Max and TJ both had great practices yesterday. They’re both equal right now. Both of those young men are doing a great job. If we have to start one of them, we’re going to do it and believe in them,” Orgeron said.

Brennan has completed 60.3 percent of his passes for 1,112 yards. The redshirt junior has thrown 11 passing touchdowns and three interceptions through the first three games of the 2020 season.
