Tre’Davious White may need to change his Twitter handle.
The Junior cornerback, whose twitter handle is @TreWhite16, will be wearing the No. 18 this season for the LSU Tigers. White had worn the No. 16 for the last two years for LSU.
White, a Shreveport native, was announced as the recipient of the jersey on Wednesday night. He is the fourth defensive player in five years to be given the honor of wearing No. 18.
The jersey number has been worn for the last decade by the player that exemplifies what it means to be an LSU football player both on and off the field. The tradition started with Matt Mauck passing down the No. 18 down to Jacob Hester after the national championship run in 2003.
White heads into his Junior campaign with 88 career tackles, four interceptions and 13 pass breakups.
