Ed Ingram is trading one shade of purple for another.

The LSU guard was selected Friday by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round (59th overall pick) in the NFL Draft on Friday evening.

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound Ingram appeared in 45 career games for the LSU Tigers, including starting 35 games (22 game at left guard, 13 at right guard), and earned All-Southeastern Conference second team honors in 2021.

Ingram was also a member of LSU’s offensive line in 2019 that helped the Tigers win a national title, including starting two games. That season LSU’s o-line received the Joe Moore Award which is given to the nation’s best offensive line.

Ingram was invited to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis and performed well, running a 5.02 in the 40-yard dash and 4.76 in the 20-yard shuttle.

Ingram will be reunited with a Tiger teammate in Minnesota, wide receiver Justin Jefferson who also played on the 2019 national title team.

LSU cornerback Cordale Flott was drafted by the New York Giants in the third round with the No. 81 overall selection.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Flott played both cornerback, nickelback and safety during his three seasons in Baton Rouge. Flott appeared in 35 games (21 starts) while recording 99 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss, 11 passes defended and one interception.

LSU had one more player selected during Friday’s NFL Draft.

The San Francisco 49ers selected running back Tyrion Davis-Price in the third round with the No. 93 overall selection.

The 6-foot-1, 223-pound running back rushed for 1,744 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns in his three seasons with the Tigers. Davis-Price set LSU’s single-game rushing record with 287 yards against Florida in 2021.
