Louisiana has finally found which “lane” they will be bowling in.
The Ragin Cajuns will play the Houston Cougars from the American Athletic Conference in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl in Shreveport, LA on Friday, December 23. Kickoff from Independence Stadium is set for 2:00 p.m.
The Cajuns will head into this contest fresh off their sixth win of the 2022 season, making them bowl-eligible for the school-record fifth consecutive season.
Houston will come into this matchup off a 7-5 campaign in a year where many people thought they could win the American. Dana Holgorsen’s squad finished fourth in the AAC, including losing to eventual champion Tulane.
For the Cajuns, this will be a new bowl on the list, as they have played in the New Orleans Bowl six of the last 11 years, the Cure Bowl, the LendingTree Bowl, and the First Responders Bowl. For Houston, they defeated Auburn 17-13 in the Birmingham Bowl last season.
