The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns snapped a two-game losing skid with a dominant 84-67 victory at home over the ULM Warhawks.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Themus Fulks helped set the tone from the start.

In the first 13 minutes, the Ragin’ Cajuns point guard scored 14 of his team’s 21 points while also recording two steals and one assist. With 12:28 left in the first half, Louisiana had built up a 21-10 lead.

The rest of Fulks’ teammates would get in on the scoring buckets as the Ragin’ Cajuns went on a 15-0 run and pushed the lead up to 22.

There was a three-point play by Jordan Brown, pair of free throws by Joe Charles, a three-pointer and free throws by Greg Williams Jr. and then another three-pointer by Kobe Julien.

Louisiana kept its foot on the gas and held a 49-18 lead at the break.

Fulks opened up the second half with a three-pointer but the visiting Warhawks started to chip away at the massive lead. Victor Bafutto’s driving layup cut the lead down to 18 with 12:53 left in the game.

Louisiana answered with a three-pointer by Kentrell Garnett.

A few moments later, ULM cut the lead down to 18 again after Jamari Blackmon made a three-pointer for his first points of the contest. Louisiana answered yet again as Julien hit a three-pointer and drew the foul for the four-point play.

The Ragin’ Cajuns saw their lead dip as far as down as 13 points after a layup by Warhawks’ Jalen Bolden. Louisiana answered with a layup by Williams, followed by free throws by Brown and a layup by Julien.

Louisiana maintained its double-digit lead the rest of the way as the Ragin’ Cajuns picked up win No. 21

BIG NUMBER: 23
Not only did the Ragin’ Cajuns force 16 turnovers but the team turned those Warhawk miscues into 23 points.

PLAYERS OF THE GAME: THEMUS FULKS & KENTRELL GARNETT
Fulks started off hot scoring 14 of the team’s first 21 points and ended the night leading the Ragin’ Cajuns with 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. Garnett chipped in 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting while also adding three rebounds and two assists.

UP NEXT: Louisiana (21-6, 11-4 SBC) hits the road for the final road game of the regular season on Saturday at James Madison. Tip is set for 6 p.m.
