Former Westgate High star and LSU Tigers receiver Kayshon Boutte was arrested Thursday morning in connection with an illegal sports gaming scheme.
According to multiple reports, court documents detailed nearly 9,000 bets placed between April 2022 and May 2023, including 17 college football-related bets and six directly related to the LSU Tigers. Two of his bets involved himself from an eight-leg parlay that had him securing a touchdown and over 82.5 receiving yards in the 2022 season opener against Florida State in the Caesars Superdome.
Considering that Boutte didn’t turn 21 until May 7, 2023, any bet placed before that date is illegal due to him being below the legal gambling age of 21.
The arrest warrant also states that Boutte deposited over $130,000 into a FanDuel account that won over $550,000 during those 390 days.
Boutte just completed his rookie season in the NFL with the New England Patriots after being drafted in the sixth round in last year’s NFL Draft.
