HOUSTON, Texas – Two current top 10 golfers in the world, No. 1-ranked Scottie Scheffler and current US Open Champion Wyndham Clark, ranked No. 7, are slated to compete in the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open, March 25-31 at Memorial Park Golf Course in the heart of Houston.
Scheffler, who won back-to-back PGA TOUR Player of the Year honors in 2022-23 and 2022-21 and was the 2022 Masters champion, is set to play in the Texas Children’s Houston Open for the fifth time in his career. In 2021, the University of Texas alum finished tied for second after holding the outright 54-hole lead at the Houston Open. Other finishes in Houston include tying for 9th at six-under, tying for 32nd at one-under in 2020, and tying for 28th at five-under in 2019.
Clark, currently ranked 7th in the OWGR rankings and 5th in the FedEx Cup rankings, is coming off a victory at the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. During the 2022-23 season, Clark won the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship and his first Major, the 2023 U.S. Open. This will be Clark’s fourth time competing in Houston, with his highest finish coming at the 2022 Houston Open, where he tied for 16th.
The field for the 2024 Texas Children’s Houston Open is coming together, as Scheffler, and Clark join the reigning champion, Tony Finau, the champion in 2022 who is ranked 24th in the world.
Additional players will be announced next week as the Texas Children’s Houston Open continues to draw a must see competitive field.
