Sam Roe has been named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week after a strong performance against Nicholls and Oklahoma.
The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns infielder had six hits on the week with a .333 batting average, but the biggest was her two-run single against the Sooners in the eighth inning to help end the 71-game win streak of the three-time defending national champions.
Sunday was Roe’s second multiple-RBI game of the week after hitting a two-run home run to open the scoring in Thibodaux against Nicholls.
Roe had at least one hit in five of the six games on the week and is the first Cajun to receive a weekly award in 2024.
