Kevin Dotson is staying in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Rams announced on Thursday that the team had agreed to terms with the offensive lineman on a three-year deal, reportedly worth $48 million.
The 27-year-old is coming off his best season in the NFL, highlighted by his work as a run blocker. According to Pro Football Focus, Dotson had an 89.9 run-blocking grade which ranked him first among all guards.
The 6-foot-4, 321-pound right guard helped anchor the pocket and protect quarterback Matthew Stafford. Stafford was sacked just 30 times during the 2023 regular season, and the team’s 34 total sacks allowed were tied with the San Fransico 49ers for the sixth-fewest.
Dotson was acquired by the Rams in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the preseason last year. Dotson was selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft (135th overall) by the Steelers in 2020.
Dotson has appeared in 53 games with 44 starts in his four-year career.
Dotson signed with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns out of Plaquemines High School. After being redshirted as a true freshman, Dotson would become one of the more decorated offensive linemen in Cajuns’ history. He would earn second-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors as a redshirt sophomore, first-team All-SBC honors as a redshirt junior, and then again as a senior.
Dotson capped his career with the Ragin’ Cajuns by being named a first-team All-American by The Associated Press and was selected as a second-team All-American by The Sporting News.
