Jordan Jefferson became the third LSU player selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in this year’s NFL Draft.

Jefferson was selected with the No. 116th overall pick by the Jaguars in Saturday’s fourth round of the NFL Draft in Detroit. He joins Brian Thomas Jr. (first round) and Maason Smith (second round) as other Tigers selected by Jacksonville in this year’s draft.

The 6-foot-4, 317-pound appeared in 13 games (6 starts) this past season for the Tigers and recorded 36 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, and 2.5 sacks.

Jefferson spent the first four years of his career playing for the West Virginia Mountaineers, with his best season coming in 2022 when he had 31 tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss, and three sacks.

LSU defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo was selected with the No. 189 overall pick by the Detroit Lions in Saturday’s sixth round of the NFL Draft.

Wingo began his career at Missouri and earned SEC Freshman All-SEC honors after appearing in 11 games, recording 27 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, and a sack in 2021.

The 6-foot-1, 295-pound junior would start in 13 games in his first season with LSU as he recorded 47 tackles, 6 tackles for a loss, and three sacks. He earned The Associated Press All-American Third-Team honors.

This past season, Wingo missed four games due to injury but still managed 25 tackles, five tackles for a loss, and four and a half sacks for the Tigers.
