Bob Marlin has picked up his third player out of the NCAA Transfer Portal.

The Louisiana men’s basketball coach announced on Thursday that Eastern Illinois forward Kyndall Davis has transferred to play for the Ragin’ Cajuns. Davis averaged 10.3 points per game last for the Panthers.

“Kyndall is a small forward that will bring experience to our team,” Marlin said in a statement. “He can score, rebound the ball, and is a really good defender that will impact the game in many ways. He improved his efficiency during conference play, scoring 13.8 points per game with 20 or more points four times.”

Davis appeared in all 32 games last season but started to elevate his game during Ohio Valley Conference action. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound forward started all 18 conference games as he averaged 13.8 points, second most on the team, and scored in double figures 13 times.

The Chicago native also led EIU during OVC play in rebounding at 6.1 per game, steals with 33, and blocks with 14.

Davis began his college career at Long Island University where he averaged 6.9 points in 47 games over two seasons. In 2021-22 he made 20 starts and averaged 8.8 points and 3.7 rebounds as LIU reached the second round of the Northeast Conference Tournament.

After two seasons at Long Island, Davis played one season at Panola College. During that season, he helped the team to the NJCAA Region XIV Tournament Championship game and a 28-5 record. That season Davis averaged 9.1 points and 3.4 rebounds with 46 steals and 22 blocks.

Davis joins Southwood High School’s Jeremiah Evans and Sacramento State’s Duncan Powell as part of the 2024-25 Louisiana signees.
