McNeese Women’s basketball coach Lynn Kennedy announced a pair of transfers for the upcoming 2024-2025 season, bringing the total to seven.

Sydney McQuietor and Wilnie Joseph, two post players, will join the Cowgirls in the hopes of adding to the depth of the forward position.

McQuietor, a 6’2″ center from Keller, Texas, comes to Lake Charles after playing for Boise State. Joseph is a 6’5″ center transfer from the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and resides in Greenwood, Indiana.

McQuietor played the last three seasons for the Broncos and played one season at Boston College prior to that. At Keller High, she averaged 17 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game as she was ranked as the 12th best center by ESPN. She was a three-star recruit.

“I believe Sydney will come here and be ready to make a big impact for our program and I am glad she will finish her college career with the,” said Kennedy.

Joseph played for Louisiana the last two seasons, shooting 50% from the field in six starts. She also played at Labette Community College, winning 24 games during the 2021-2022 season.

“Wilnie brings a strong physical presence to our post position with the ability to score as well as alter shots at the rim,” said Kennedy.
