Marucci Sports, which started in Baton Rouge in 2004, will now be the official bat of Major League Baseball after the company reached a licensing agreement with the league on Friday.

The agreement also includes Victus bats and provides for executive rights to use MLB trademarks with the company’s Smart Bats, including embedded Diamond Kinetics bat sensors.

The agreement goes into effect on January 1, 2025, and will run through 2028.

Lizard Skins, a company purchased by Marucci, is already the official bat grip of the MLB.

In 2020, Marucci sold to Compass Diversified Holdings for $200 million before being sold again in 2023 for $572 million, this time to Fox Factory Holding Corp.
