New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys, the second most in a single game for his career.
After a 180-yards-from-scrimmage performance in a 44-19 victory, Kamara became the first player in Saints history to post two games with at least four touchdowns. He scored six touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Day 2020, tying the NFL record. That performance also earned Player of the Week honors.
Kamara ran 115 yards on 20 attempts and three touchdowns while adding two passes for 65 yards and a touchdown against the Cowboys, helping New Orleans improve to 2-0 entering Sunday’s game with the Philadelphia Eagles.
It was his first 100-yard rushing game in 14 games (2022 Week 18) as he rushed for 107 yards against Carolina to end the 2022 campaign.
Kamara has 198 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 35 carries, and seven catches for 92 yards and a touchdown, adding to his franchise lead in total touchdowns and rushing touchdowns.
This is now the most productive start to Kamara’s career as his prior best back-to-back run of games came against the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Giants in 2018 when he had 200 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 35 carries, plus 171 receiving yards on 20 catches.
