The New Orleans Saints (4-7) have won the first two games of the Darren Rizzi era. Now, coming off of a bye, they will look to keep things going against the Los Angeles Rams (5-6) on Sunday at home.
The Saints found a way to defeat Jameis Winston and the Browns inside the Caesars Superdome before the bye week. That allowed them to enjoy the time off and now try to put themselves back into the playoff conversation.
Kickoff inside the Caesars Superdome is set for noon on Sunday, December 1st.
BYE WEEK BOOST
The Saints needed this bye week. They have been dealing with injuries all season long, and finally having a week off should allow them to get some players back healthy.
They stacked together a couple of wins before the time off, which should give them some added confidence. It will be important to get some players refreshed and recovered heading into this matchup against the Rams.
BAD BLOOD?
Saints fans certainly will never forget the 2019 NFC Championship game against the Rams. One of the worst missed calls in NFL history led to the Rams winning the game and moving onto the Super Bowl.
While plenty of players and coaches have come and gone since then, it will always be an added element to the matchups between these two teams.
TROUBLE AT THE TOP
The Saints still have their work cut out for them to try to get back into the playoff mix. However, they may be getting some help from the top of the NFC South.
The Atlanta Falcons have been faltering, now losers of their last two games. That has shrunk the division lead down to just two games currently. If Atlanta continues to struggle and New Orleans continues to surge, this division race may get interesting, especially with Tampa still in it as well.
