The LSU Tigers women’s basketball team defeated the Seton Hall Pirates 91-64 on Tuesday evening in the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase. The win keeps LSU undefeated and moves them to 13-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The game began with both offenses finding success. Building on her double-double last time out, Jersey Wolfenbarger set the pace with four early points for LSU. Seton Hall responded with outside shooting, knocking down a couple of triples in the early going to create an 11-9 lead.

After that, the Tigers took a lead and began to build it, a theme that would last much of the evening. By the end of the first, the LSU lead was 22-15.

The second quarter was dominant for the Tigers, led by the efforts of Mikaylah Williams. LSU would win the quarter 30-10 and go into the break with a 52-25 lead.

For Seton Hall, Faith Masonius tried to keep them in it. Her scoring was consistent, as she finished the night with 29 points. However, the Tigers continued to out score the Pirates, leading 71-49 after three quarters.

LSU cruised through the fourth, outscoring the Pirates 20-15 to finish the game with the 91-64 victory.

BIG NUMBER: 30

The second quarter was the difference for LSU, as they scored 30 points. That gave them a comfortable halftime lead on their way to a big win.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Mikaylah Williams

Williams made six threes and scored 22 points. She also added five rebounds and five assists in a complete effort.

UP NEXT: The Tigers will face the University of Illinois-Chicago on the road on Thursday night at 7:00 PM. You can hear the action on Mustang 107.1 FM.
