On Tuesday, the New Orleans Pelicans took a 119-114 loss from the Brooklyn Nets. The Pelicans were without seven of their eight top scorers, including Zion Williamson.

Antonio Reeves and Karlo Matkovic each scored a team-high 17 points during the match. Jose Alvarado, Keion Brooks Jr, and Jamal Cain also scored double-digits for New Orleans.

Trendon Watford was Brookyn’s leading scorer with 22 points on 87.5-percent shooting from the field. Drew Timme contributed 16 points and nine rebounds, while Reece Beekman totaled 10 assists.

Brooklyn outscored New Orleans 43-26 in the third quarter, but there was some intrigue in the game’s final minutes. With 56 seconds left in regulation, Reeves made a three-pointer to bring the Pelicans to a four-point deficit. Tosan Evbuomwan countered with a three-pointer of his own, securing a definitive lead for the Nets.

New Orleans now holds a 21-58 season record. They are 3-7 in their last 10 games.
