Louisiana’s Conor Higgs and Caleb Stelly were honored on Monday as the duo was named to the 2025 All-Sun Belt Conference Baseball team, voted on by the league’s 14 head coaches.

Higgs, a redshirt senior, was named a first-team outfielder, with Stelly, a junior, as the second-team designated hitter.

Higgs finished the regular season as the team’s leader in average (.346), home runs (16), and runs batted in (45). The Texas City, Texas native finished in the top five in the Sun Belt in hitting and was second in both slugging percentage (.681) and OPS (1.147).

In SBC play, Higgs posted a .695 slugging percentage and 1.165 OPS to rank second overall while recording 20 multiple-hit games to lead the team and had a team-best 13 games with two or more RBI. Higgs reached base in 23 straight games during the season, driving in a season-high five runs against South Alabama.

He raised his batting average 49 points (.295 to .344) during a nine-game stretch where he hit .448 with five homers and 14 RBI.

Stelly finished second in average (.314) and home runs (8), and hit .356 in SBC games to finish eighth overall in the league. The Baton Rouge, La., native posted 16 multi-hit games during the season to rank second behind Higgs and had a team-best 24-game streak of reaching base. Six of his career-high eight homers were recorded in SBC play. He recorded his first career multi-homer game at Georgia State, where he was 2-for-3 with three RBI in the middle game of an eventual three-game sweep.

Louisiana, the No. 5 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championships, opens play on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. when it faces No. 4-seeded Marshall at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Ala.
