After coming out and getting the early lead, the Cajuns had to rally back to beat the Georgia State Panthers.
The Cajuns got on the board on their first possession much like how they started last week with Stevie Artigue nailing a 40-yarder through the uprights. The Cajuns special teams continued to excel with a blocked punt by Montrel Carter to score a TD to go up 10-0 early on in the first quarter.
The Panthers responded with Nick Arbuckle connecting with Keith Rucker too get on the board.
Brooks Haack extended the Cajuns lead with a lengthy drive that was capped off by a short pass to Al Riles from four yards out.
But Arbuckle was at it again connecting with Keith Rucker, who caught a ridiculous one-handed catch to come within a field goal.
The Cajuns headed into the locker room with a three point lead, but did not have the momentum with Georgia State opening up the second half with a methodical drive that was capped off by a short pass from Arbuckle to Donovan Harden to take the lead.
But it was Artigue who proved to be the X Factor kicking two more field goals in the second half.
The Cajuns (4-4, 3-1 Sun Belt) will have a short week before taking on South Alabama (3-4, 1-2 Sun Belt) on Thursday night with kickoff set for 6:30 pm.
