The LSU Tigers jumped all the way to number three in the latest AP Top 25 that was released on Tuesday.
The move comes after LSU defeated Clemson on the road in a top ten showdown on Saturday night. They were previously ranked ninth in the preseason poll.
The ranking is LSU’s highest since the National Championship team of 2019 finished the poll at #1. They received three first place votes this week.
After the loss, Clemson dropped to #8. SEC teams occupy four of the top ten spots, while the Big Ten has the top two teams.
