The LSU Tigers women’s basketball team is ranked fifth in the Preseason Associated Press Top 25, which was released on Tuesday.

The ranking comes on the heels of another Elite 8 run for coach Kim Mulkey and her team.

The Tigers finished the 2024-25 season 31-6 overall with a 12-4 mark in SEC play. After winning two postseason games at home in the Rounds of 64 & 32, they defeated NC State in Spokane, Washington in a Sweet 16 matchup. Their run, however, came to an end in the Elite 8 when they were defeated by UCLA.

The 2025-26 season starts with the defending National Champions UConn ranked #1. South Carolina comes in at second, with UCLA and Texas the other two top five teams in front of LSU.

LSU women’s basketball can once again be heard on the Delta Media airwaves in 2025-26. Games will be broadcasted on Mustang 107.1 FM all season long.
