Posted by Raymond Partsch III on November 21, 2025 in Blogs, High School Sports, Local News, RP3's Blogs, Sports News

The Northwest Raiders started the postseason with a convincing victory.

Northwest defeated South Terrebonne 45-0 in the opening round of the LHSAA Division III Non-Select playoffs. No. 15 Northwest will next travel to take on No. 2 Iowa in the second round.

Northwest got things started in the first quarter with a six-yard touchdown run by Ke’Von Johnson. In the second, the Raiders added an eight-yard touchdown run by Justin Chavis, a three-yard TD run by Johnson, a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown by Markez Davis, and then a one-yard touchdown run by Johnson right before halftime.

At the break, Northwest held a commanding 35-0 lead.

The Raiders would add a 30-yard field goal and a 15-yard touchdown pass to Chase Dupre from Davis.

Davis was selected as the Player of the Game as he recorded three tackles, two interceptions, including returning one for a 43-yard touchdown, and catching a 15-yard touchdown pass.

This week’s contest, with Jason Burns and Chad Jones on the call, will be Opelousas Catholic at Westminster Christian Academy at the newly renovated Donald Gardner Stadium. Pregame begins at 6:45 and kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
