Houston Astros infielder Carlos Correa is expected to miss the rest of the 2026 season, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com is reporting.

Correa suffered an ankle injury in batting practice ahead of yesterday’s win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was scratched from the starting lineup. It is now expected that he will need surgery for the injured ankle and will not return this season.

Prior to the injury, Correa was batting .279 with three home runs and 16 RBIs on the season. The Astros reacquired Correa at the trade deadline last season.

Correa is far from the first Astro to be bitten by the injury bug this season. Currently, the Astros are without Hunter Brown, Jeremy Pena, Josh Hader, Cristian Javier, Tatsuya Imai, Ronel Blanco, Jake Meyers, Yainer Diaz, Nate Pearson, Taylor Trammell, Hayden Wesneski, Brandon Walter, and Joey Loperfido.

The Astros set the Major League record for most games missed on the Injured List a season ago, and they may threaten that record again this season.

Houston faces Los Angeles in the series finale this afternoon at 1:10 PM. You can listen to the action on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette 104.1 Lake Charles.
