
The LSU Tigers had nine total players earn Preseason All-Southeastern Conference honors.
Lane Kiffin’s team had five players earn first-team honors. Tight end Trey’Dez Green, offensive tackle Jordan Seaton (Colorado transfer), defensive lineman Princewill Umanmielen (Ole Miss transfer), linebacker Whit Weeks and punter Grant Chadwick.
The Tigers had two players earn second-team honors with defensive back DJ Pickett and Ty Benefield (Boise State transfer) earning those accolades.
LSU also had two players earn third-team honors with center Braelin Moore and linebacker TJ Dottery (Ole Miss transfer).
LSU was also selected to finish fifth in the SEC, according to a preseason poll of those media in attendance covering SEC Football Media Days in Tampa.
Georgia was predicted to win the 2026 SEC Championship, as the Bulldogs received 88 votes to be crowned SEC Champion on December 5 in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Texas was picked to be the Bulldogs’ opponent in a rematch of the 2024 SEC Championship Game.
Only 10 times since 1992 (34 years) has the predicted champion selected at SEC Media Days proceeded to win the SEC Championship Game.
