It really should be no surprise that Anthony Davis was named Western Conference Player of the Month for February. Why is that cut and dry?
The numbers tell you all that you need to know. Davis averaged 35 points, 13 boards, 2.5 steals, and 2.2 blocks per game and leading the New Orleans Pelicans to an 8-3 record in the month of February, and they are in the midst of a seven game win streak.
Looking over at the Eastern Conference, LeBron James earned Player of the Month honors for the 37th time in his career, which is an NBA record.
Davis is the first New Orleans player to claim the honor since Chris Paul earned it back in 2010. The Pelicans will return to action on Sunday when they take on the Dallas Mavericks with tipoff set for 6 pm.
