Louisiana quarterback Ben Wooldridge will miss the final two games of the 2022 season with a “significant” lower-body injury. It is currently unclear when the injury was suffered.
Wooldridge has started every game since the October 12th contest at Marshall. The junior transfer from Fresno State completed 57% of his passes for 1,221 yards, 12 touchdowns, and four interceptions in five games as starter for the Vermilion and White.
The keys of the offense will now get turned back over to Chandler Fields, who started the first five games of the 2022 season before going down with a shoulder injury and losing the job to Wooldridge in the process.
Fields has also completed 57% of his passes for 608 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions. The Archbishop Rummel product has been with the Ragin Cajuns since 2019.
Louisiana plays against Florida State at 11:00 a.m. before they travel to Texas State next Saturday in the regular season finale. The Cajuns will need to win one of the final two to be bowl eligible.
