Blood Pressure Medication Recall

Two blood pressure medications are being recalled because of excessive levels of nitrosamines. They are quinapril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets, manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma USA. The compounds are commonplace. They can be found in water and multiple food items at low levels.

Potentially dangerous levels of these compounds have been found in these two medications. Prolonged exposure to excessive levels of quinapril and hydrochlorothiazide has been linked to an elevated risk of cancer. The recall involves two lots of medications

The tablets involved are round & pink. They’re imprinted with a “D” on one side, and a “19” on the other.
