The hopes of a Ragin’ Cajuns upset were dashed as the Boise State Broncos jumped out to a quick 14-0 1st quarter lead en route to a 45-10 victory. Broncos sophomore QB Brett Rypien was very effective early, finishing 22-33 for 347 yards and a pair of touchdown passes.
Meanwhile, LSU transfer Anthony Jennings was efficient for Louisiana, going 21-33, 186 and one TD pass. The issue for the Cajuns was penalties. It appeared every time they had a big play, a penalty would follow. The refs whistled the Cajuns for 10 flags, costing them 71 yards. Many of them, early movement on 1st downs.
Cajuns (0-1) continue their season opening three-game home stand, Saturday, September 10 vs McNeese State.
