The LSU Tigers defense can’t escape the injury bug as star linebacker Harold Perkins Jr is out for the remainder of the season after suffering what is believed to be a torn ACL against UCLA on Saturday according to multiple reports.
Perkins, a New Orleans native, has been a major piece of the LSU defense since his true freshman season, including his dominant four-sack performance while battling the flu against Arkansas.
This season, he was awarded the jersey number 7, typically given to a Louisiana native that is a playmaker for the team. During his time in Baton Rouge, Perkins has 164 total tackles, 13 sacks, and a pair of interceptions.
Mel Kiper of ESPN ranked Perkins as the second-best off-ball linebacker in the 2025 NFL Draft.
