Cajuns Basketball falls to Miami 93-77

Cajuns Basketball

The Ragin Cajuns started out strong, but the Miami Hurricanes took over control in the middle of the first half and never let go on the way to an impressive 93-77 victory.

The Hurricanes were led by Davon Reed who had 19 points and was 4-5 from three point range. The junior guard also had four boards, one assist, one block, and one steal on the night. Angel Rodriguez was right behind Reed with 18 points, five boards four assists, and a steal.

The Cajuns had a less than stellar game shooting 46% from the field and only making five of their 20 shots from three point range.

Shawn Long led the way for the Cajuns with a double-double. The senior guard racked up 21 points, 13 boards, one assist, one steal, and one block on the night.

Jay Wright was the only one close to Long with 13 points, eight assists, and two steals.

The Cajuns (1-1) will travel to Tuscaloosa to take on Avery Johnson’s Alabama Crimson Tide (2-0) with tipoff set for 7 pm.
