The Ragin Cajuns completely dominated the South Alabama Jaguars on Friday in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament with a convincing 90-68 win.
The Cajuns and the Jags started things off slow, but UL-Lafayette started to pull away thanks to turnovers. In the first half alone, the Jags had 13 turnovers, and it was enough for the Cajuns to take a 51-37 lead into the locker room.
It was more of the same for the Cajuns after an early scare where the Jags cut the lead down to 10 points, but that was the last gasp for South Alabama, as the Cajuns continued to dominate the rest of the way to move the Cajuns up to the semifinals of the tournament.
Sun Belt Conference player of the year Shawn Long led the Cajuns with one of his best games of the season. The senior scored 34 points, including 5-6 from the arc, five boards, one assist, and one steal on the night.
Barrington Stevens led the Jaguars with 13 points, three boards, three assists, and one steal.
The Cajuns will try and make it to the tournament final against the Little Rock Trojans with tipoff set for 1 pm.
